There’s one question that often pops into my mind as I walk from the metro to the boulangerie down the hill to my apartment — what would it be like to live in Paris not as a student?
I so hope to know the answer someday, but that day is not today or any in the near future. We’re right in the middle of finals as I type, and while I watch classmates envy-inducing statuses of being finished with the semester pop up on my timeline, I still have about five more pages left to write.
I have so many travels to catch up on from this semester, including the rest of my time in India, where we prayed at the edge of rose water and drank chai in the sun, as well as a very pierogi-filled trip to Krakow. In the meantime, however, I can sate your appetite (though, full disclosure, you may want to read this with some excellent cheese nearby) with this guest post I wrote for Chocolate & Zucchini (available in French as well) about my recent excursion to the Jura Mountains, where we ate a lot of cheese and I learned that maybe my strengths do not lie in farming. It did, however, completely change the way I experience a fromagerie. (I plan to write more about the experience soon over here!)
Next week, I’m off for Barcelona, and I can’t wait to share the rest of my summer plans when I return. But for now, I’m off to finish writing papers. À très bientôt. ♦
