Nothing eases homesickness like what you love the most.
Luckily for me, one of the semi-annual sales in Paris begins tomorrow and will last for the next six weeks. WIN! While I’m not trying to spend all my money in the first week, I’m also not trying to pay full price when I can get them on sale. Especially when Europe is the home of H&M.
Today we moved into the hostel with the program. Seven people in one room makes it feel more like camp than a dorm, which makes me wonder how strangers stay together in these rooms. Did I mention there are no shower curtains? Welcome to Europe.
Another thing we discovered today is the market on the way to le centre commercial sur la Place d’Italie. We walked through around 1 p.m., but all the vendors were already packing everything up, from fruits and cheese to DVD’s and nail polish for a euro. Hopefully we’ll be able to go back when everyone’s out! Also, at the grocery store we found wine for a euro, which made me wonder how much customs would let me take back to America with me…
Grandfather (the old one) says
Hmm. Did you taste the one-euro wine?
amcelder says
Nope, I was advised not to drink wine under 3 euros 🙂
Scott Powers says
The French still haven’t figured out the concept of the shower! 🙂
Rachel says
sadly you can only take back two bottles… 🙁 I KNOW! it’s a crime!!
I feel like I would invest in duck tape or packaging tape and tape up my towel every morning….
amcelder says
That’s terrible! Can I mail it back? And it hasn’t been too bad, at least there is a door to the main bathroom!
