So, last week I finally learned that I was accepted into my first choice study abroad program with NYU! It was such a relief to learn right before midterms…which I am currently cramming for. I miss the Sandman and I’m sure he misses me just as much.
While the acceptance took a HUGE weight off my shoulders, now I must begin filling out piles and piles of papework, in addition to all my classes. Awesome. I wish getting a visa were as easy as getting a passport was. The entire visa process moderately terrifies me, just because everything is so strict and intimidating. It also means that I need to find a day to hop over to DC…not something I would usually complain about, but I have a feeling the embassy hours are not as flexible as Sheetz.
My last midterm is in 7 hours and is worth 10% of my grade. As the night(now morning) progresses, I’m losing motivation to study and plan to do what every English major does best and wing it. I know the plays and we have the option of three prompts…sounds good, but it always happens that whatever I don’t prepare for is the hardest. I have the WORST attention span ever and just don’t want to do any of this anymore. At least my Bedford Companion to Shakepeare, three Shakespeare comedies and Arden of Faversham will make a good pillow tonight.
I really hope we can choose from the one prompt that I THOUROUGHLY outlined…I swear if my handwriting were a font this would be size 6. Small.
The good news is I’m going home this weekend and get to see all the crazies and Kimbo, who I haven’t seen since August! Crab legs will be involved, as well as some Euro prep shopping…i.e., scarves, boots, black, more black…ahhh heaven.
